Incubation & Innovation Conclave for the Principals, HODs and Campus Catalysts of Bareilly International University (BIU).

With the objective of strengthening institutional innovation governance within a medical university ecosystem, the BMIIL (Bareilly MedTech Incubation & Innovation Labs) conducted an Incubation & Innovation Conclave for the Principals, Heads of Departments (HODs), and Campus Catalysts of Bareilly International University (BIU).

Designed as a collaborative policy co-creation initiative rather than a conventional conference, the conclave focused on translating institutional intent into structured, actionable frameworks for innovation, startups, and incubation within a medical university environment.

The program followed a structured engagement model beginning with an innovation awareness session, aligned to institutional vision and ecosystem development. This was followed by a team-based Policy Framework Design Workshop. Ten interdisciplinary teams were constituted, each working on predefined institutional problem statements and presenting implementable policy recommendations.

A defining feature of the conclave was that the policies were not externally imposed; they were designed by the very academic leaders responsible for implementation. HODs actively assumed the role of innovation champions, reinforcing leadership ownership in driving systemic change. Campus Catalysts contributed practical, ground-level insights drawn from ongoing innovation engagement across constituent colleges.

Student from MBBS and Ayurveda who have demonstrated early adoption of innovation-led thinking were formally recognized and provided an opportunity to share their perspectives, reinforcing the importance of bottom-up participation within the institutional innovation ecosystem.

This marks a foundational step in strengthening BIU’s structured incubation and innovation framework — and it is just the beginning.
